Greetings from BITSAANA!

The BITSAANA NJ & DC Alumni Meets 2026 were a tremendous success, bringing together 75+ alumni and families representing batches from the 1960s through 2017. The gatherings provided a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, celebrate our shared heritage, and strengthen our global BIT Sindri alumni community.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined us and traveled from near and far. Special appreciation to President Alka Singh (E&C ’86) and Secretary Vinay Singh (E&C ’85) for sharing BITSAANA’s initiatives, vision, and future plans. We also extend our gratitude to Braj K. Singh (Potomac, MD) for hosting the Maryland gathering.

🌟 BITSAANA Student Achievement Awards 2026

A highlight of the events was recognizing three outstanding students for their 2025 SAT/ACT performance through BITSAANA Student Achievement Awards:

  • Shivank Jha – George Washington University, International Business
    Presented in loving memory of Dr. Anil Kumar (Mechanical ’67)
  • Siddha Karjee – Olin College of Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering
    Presented in loving memory of Ranjit Sinha (Chemical ’62)
  • Aarna Kant – Babson College, Business Administration (Legal Studies & Finance)
    Presented in loving memory of Neil Pundit (Telecommunication ’61)

Congratulations to these young achievers. We wish them continued success as they carry forward the proud legacy of BIT Sindri.

🏅 BITSAANA Samman Awards 2026

BITSAANA honored two distinguished alumni for their lifetime service and contributions to the alumni community:

  • Shri Madhukar Prasad (  Mechanical  Engineering ’65)
  • Shri Mritunjay Singh (Mechanical Engineering ’66)
  • Shri Nilendu Srivastava ( Mechanical Engineering’66)

Both received the BITSAANA Samman Award for Distinguished Lifetime Service to the BIT Sindri Alumni Community. Their dedication and service continue to inspire generations of BITians.

We were also honored to receive congratulatory messages from Dr. K. P. Singh, CEO of Holtec International and one of BIT Sindri’s most distinguished alumni, encouraging continued alumni engagement, mentoring, and support for future generations.

Special thanks to Rajeev Singh (E&C ’85) for serving as the Master of Ceremonies and keeping the program engaging and well-coordinated. We also sincerely appreciate Sudhaker Raj for managing the audio-visual arrangements and ensuring a seamless experience.

The celebrations concluded with cultural entertainment, group singing, and a renewed commitment to stay connected, support students, mentor young alumni, and continue strengthening BITSAANA’s impact.
