SUMMARY:2019 BITSAA NA East Coast Meet at Washington DC
DESCRIPTION:BIT Sindri Alumni association of North America had the annual meeting at BK Singh’s (1964 Mechanical) residence in Washington DC on March 30th 2019. In a cozy environment. the meeting started at 1pm with BIT kulgeet.B K Singh extended a warm welcome to all alumni from East Coast.Anil Singh VP and Treasurer. BITSAANA’s presented the latest development taking place in BIT Sindri.Prabht Kumar Sinha mentioned the effort he and his team has been putting to gain the lost glory of BIT and how this can be converted into a National Institute.Entertainment was planned by Sandeep Kumar – we all enjoyed singing and listening to the wonderful karaoke track.The next day. on behalf of Director BIT Sindri. we presented the BIT Distinguished Alum Award to Dr. Yogi Chadda (1957 Mechanical) at his residence in Middletown. Delaware. U.S.A. on March 31. 2019.Anil Singh (1964 Metallurgy). Divyanshu Raj (1991 Metallurgy). Mrs Radha Singh. Smt. Daljit Chadda and Preeti Singh Jain (daughter of Yogi Chadda) were also present during the presentation ceremony.The ceremony started with singing of BIT “Kulgeet”.After the ceremony we all were treated with a home cooked stemptous lunch.Dr. Yogi Chadda appreciated greatly this award. and asked to convey his sincere thanks to Dr Dharmendra Singh and all BIT staff and students. He wished that BIT keeps on this improvement path. and he is sure that BIT will very soon become the top tier technical institute in India. \n\n\n\n	DC2019

SUMMARY:2019 East Coast Meet at Indian Consulate. NY
DESCRIPTION:BIT Sindri Alumni association of North America had a reunion on May 4th 2019 at Indian consulate. NYC which was a worthwhile experience for all alumni. It was amazing to see our strong BIT community gathered together. from our 1963 batch to the batch of 2015. Our plans for the future. including visiting BIT. helping BIT Sindri. and continuing to remain active in BITSAANA. were well communicated. We enjoyed seeing our strong alumni presence. and we are looking forward to have this kind of many more gathering in the future.Program started with BIT Sindri kulgeet.Ramesh Yadav. President of BITSAA flew from the West Coast to attend the event. and gave us an overview of BITSAANA’s activities and how it is collaborating with BIT administrations for the upliftment of our institute.We got a wonderful message from BIT Director Dr D K Singh and also got a snapshot of the latest happening in the campus. He added the exciting projects taking place. as well as the ones in the pipelines.Prabhat Sinha shared the team effort of BIT uplifting under his leadership to make BIT Sindri an Institution of National Importance.Shailendra Suman shared his initiative of the Thermal Project at BIT Sindri.Alok Kumar. President FIA showed his support to BITSAANA.Anil Kumar gave us a review of his fuel technology and all research activities plan for BIT Sindri.Vinay Singh. president Bihar-Jharkand Association of North America. outlined some simple ideas to aid BIT. even when far away from India. He recalled some funny memories from everyone’s BIT daysDeputy CG Shatrughna Sinha. a BIT alumnus hosted the event in the consulate. and for that we greatly thank him.  He was one of the recipients of BITSAA scholarships during his college days.Vote of Thanks was presented by Ratna RajThanks to Sudhaker Raj and Sanjay Prasad. who helped with audio/video and photography.We also thank Rajeev Singh for his entertainment. as our own fellow BITian delighted us with mesmerizing Bollywood hits.Divyanshu Raj was our talented MC. who did a great job coordinating the whole program.All BITians are eagerly awaiting the next alumni reunion.2019 Annual Meet in Washington DC 2019 Annual Meet in Washington DC Previous Slide 31/45 Next

SUMMARY:2019 West Coast Alumni Meet at Placentia. California
DESCRIPTION:BIT Sindri Alumni Association held the West Coast Annual Meet yesterday. August 17. in Placentia. a suburb of Los Angeles. in the Farm House owned by Anjana and Alakh Singh (1976 Civil). They were perfect and generous hosts. Lot of great foods.Alumni and guests totaled ~ 40. Archana Jha was the youngest alumni (2012 Electronics) and Kamal Jha (1962 Electrical) was the senior most. The Association received a donation of $610. Sonia Das. an Associate Member (daughter of an Alumni. Prof/Dr MK Das) was manning the donation table. What a great job she did! Thanks Sonia.I know it is difficult to believe but true. the get together started at 3 PM and lasted till 11 PM. We talked about our Association and BIT on the move including research program and efforts to make it a central government institute such as NIT.This was followed by many hours of songs. dance. shero-shayari. jokes. poetry recitals etc. etc. As usual ladies out numbered in all of these areas. Ramesh Yadava put a little bit of fight.Overall all who were present had a great time. We all owe a bunch of thanks to Anjanaji and Alakh Bhai.West Coast  BITSAANA 2020 annual meet will be held in the Bay Area.Note: many more photos will be posted later.

SUMMARY:2021 Greater Los Angeles Meet at Torrance. California
DESCRIPTION:BITSAANA members of Greater Los Angeles had a mini get together Manisha and Anand Mishra’s house in Torrance. California. This was the first in person meeting after the pandemic started. Eight members plus their spouses were in attendance. We were blessed to have Anand’s parents present as well. Snacks and dinner meals were excellent. and plentiful. All had great time. Since we met in person after 1 1/2 year. so much ground to cover and talk. Fun lasted for 5 hours. from 6 to 11 PM. More such meets are planned in the near future.

DESCRIPTION:BITSAANA members of Greater Los Angeles had a mini get-together at Anjana and Alakh Deo Sign’s house in Yorba Linda\, California. DESCRIPTION:BITSAANA LA Chapter get together was held at Rajesh Jha and Barmeshwar Rai penthouse in Long Beach\, California on Saturday\, June 25\, 2022. Eleven BITSAANA members\, and their spouses/guests (22 total) joined. Kamal Nath Jha (1961 Electrical) and Archana Jha (2012 Computer Science) were respectively senior most member and junior most member. In addition to reminiscing about about our golden days at Sindri\, and recent positive developments at BIT\, there were plenty of lazy talks.\nPlenty of food and drinks. Highlight was the Makhana ka Kheer specifically cooked for the occasion by Rajesh Bhai. Bramesh Bhai narrated poem that he recently wrote on BIT.\nRajesh and Bramesh were the prefect hosts. DESCRIPTION:On a beautiful Sunday morning\, members and their families from the Greater Toronto Area gathered for the Meet. It was also attended by Divyanshu Raj\, BITSAANA President. After Refreshments and some Networking\, the meeting was called to order. It was started by Divyanshu Raj sharing her thoughts about Late Neil Pundit Sir and observing a minute of silence. \nAfter a round of self-introductions\, the Zoom call was started. After playing “Kul Geet”\, Sunila Dutta\, VP\, BITSAANA welcomed the members. Updates about BIT Sindri & BITSAANA were provided by Divyanshu Raj\, BITSAANA President; Prabhat Sinha\, Chairperson\, BITSAANA and Anil Singh\, President Emeritus\, BITSAANA. Bidhu Shekhar Jha from Toronto spoke a few words about motivating young graduates. The zoom session concluded with the message from Dr. Prakash Kumar\, Dean\, Alumni Affairs\, BIT Sindri.\nIt was followed by a grand potluck lunch\, while Mr. Pranav Nidhi entertained everyone with his songs. Mr. Ghazanfar Khan provided Vote of Thanks. The meeting ended with Group Photographs. Special Thanks to Mr. Satya Swaroop Taneja for sending “Nanak Sweets” for all the participants and to Mr. Sudhanshu Prasad Mohanty for distributing flash drives to the children. There were more than 40 people and they agreed to have more frequent gatherings.
